Our solid ash floating shelves come either unfinished (it is sanded), satin clear coat, or custom stain & clear coat. Please reach out if you pick stain to go over color options. These shelves are extremely heavy, please send your stud measurements so that we can make your life easier and predrill the backs of your shelves. If you do not attach your mounts to studs, they will immediately pull out of your wall. We provide steel rod mounting hardware with purchase. Ash is a cheaper “knockoff version” of white oak. It is still a hardwood, but the graining can be inconsistent compared to white oak. If you’re looking for a more affordable solid wood option, Ash is a great choice.
